Prepare your jobsite facility quote

Start here. You will then specify the number of people and equipment.

Free No obligation

Less than a month? Enter 1 month as a planning value, then specify the actual dates in your request. This is not a minimum rental term. A ZIP code does not establish site access or the permitting jurisdiction.

Prepare the jobsite facility requirements first

Which employee facilities does your site need?

Jobsite facilities bring together the spaces used by teams to change, eat, wash and, depending on the project, work in an office. Start with the uses and the number of people present at the same time.

Fixed site

Modules to combine

Distribute offices, break room, locker rooms and toilets across one or more modules. Request a layout plan showing the capacity of each room.

Mobile team

Office trailer or portable restroom unit

For a towable trailer or a building moved by truck, specify movement frequency and available utilities. An office trailer does not automatically include restrooms. Confirm the separate facilities and any water storage, power and heating systems.

Existing installation

An additional module

Add an office, locker rooms or toilets to the available facilities. Describe what already exists to avoid duplicating equipment.

In the quote, ask for furniture, heating, ventilation, hot water and kitchen equipment to be itemized. The term 'equipped employee facilities module' alone does not tell you the exact contents.

What should a jobsite facilities quote include?

No verified US jobsite facilities rental or purchase price sample is published here. Ask for the configuration and services your site actually needs; a dry shipping-container price is not a jobsite facility price.

Equipment

Specify the exact units, usable facilities, fittings and capacity for the proposed workforce and working hours.

Ready for use

Include delivery, unloading, supports, assembly, water and drainage arrangements, electricity and commissioning before work starts.

Throughout the project

Price cleaning, consumables, tank emptying and water replenishment, maintenance, emergency replacement and final collection.

Ask for the charge period, applicable sales taxes, minimum rental, extension and notice terms, and every delivery or collection charge. Commercial rental terms do not change the requirement to provide suitable employee facilities from the start and throughout the work.

The facilities to have ready from day one

Identify federal OSHA or the approved State Plan covering the employer and work. Construction sanitation and general-industry rules are different. Confirm facilities before work starts and maintain them throughout the project.

Confirm coverage for the employer and the work. Some State Plans cover only state and local government workers; private-sector work in those states generally remains under federal OSHA. Workplace sanitation and building or zoning approvals are separate checks.

Available, sanitary toilets

For construction under federal OSHA, 29 CFR 1926.51(c) sets toilet provision by workforce in Table D-1, with specific temporary-field and mobile-crew provisions. An approved State Plan can impose different or additional requirements. Establish the governing rule before choosing the number and type of fixtures.

Specify: Record peak workforce, shifts, fixture types, privacy, accessible use, travel time, safe access and servicing. Federal rules allow specified nonsewer facilities unless local codes prohibit them; portable toilets are not automatically acceptable for every site.

Handwashing and task-specific hygiene

Federal construction 1926.51(f)(3) requires lavatories at places of employment, with a specific exception for mobile crews and normally unattended locations having transportation readily available to compliant nearby washing facilities. Lavatories need hot and cold or tepid running water, cleansing products and hygienic drying. Employees handling harmful substances also need adequate washing near the work under 1926.51(f)(1). Hand sanitizer is not a general replacement for required soap-and-water washing.

Specify: Identify supply, drainage, freeze protection and cleaning. If a particular OSHA standard requires showers, 1926.51(f) specifies one shower per ten employees of each sex, or fraction, showering during the same shift. Assess hazardous-work decontamination separately.

Protected drinking-water supply

Provide an adequate potable-water supply under 1926.51(a). Portable drinking-water containers must close tightly and dispense through a tap; dipping and a shared drinking cup are prohibited. Mark nonpotable supplies and prevent cross-connections.

Specify: Assign safe filling, storage, replenishment and cleaning. Size provision for the work, weather and remote access. Heat-related water and rest arrangements need a separate assessment under the applicable federal or state requirements; this guide sets no universal gallons-per-worker quota.

Changing and clothing storage

Where a particular OSHA standard requires protective clothing because of toxic contamination, 1926.51(i) requires changing rooms with separate storage for street clothes and protective clothing. Other work may need changing, drying and personal storage following the hazard assessment and state rules.

Specify: Describe contaminants and laundering or disposal procedures, wet gear, privacy and clean/dirty separation. Do not treat an ordinary locker room as an approved lead, asbestos or other specialist decontamination facility.

Meals, breaks and shelter

Federal 1926.51(g) prohibits eating and drinking in toilet rooms and areas exposed to toxic materials. Provide clean, usable arrangements for breaks and meals, and identify state heat, sanitation and employment requirements. The federal sanitation rule does not establish a single national lunchroom floor-area allowance.

Specify: State simultaneous users, furniture, cooling or safe heating, ventilation and cleaning. Keep food and drinking supplies separate from contaminants. Include rest access, shade or cooling and emergency arrangements where required for the actual work and climate.

State examples apply only in their jurisdiction. US requirements, exceptions and official references.

Workforce present at the same time

Count all teams and subcontractors present simultaneously. If shifts have different workforce compositions, describe each shift in the quote so the facilities can cover every group and use.

Add at least one person to continue.

This preparation tool uses whole months. For less than a month, enter 1 as a planning value and specify the actual dates in the request. This does not set a minimum rental term or predict the billed period. A ZIP code does not identify the permitting jurisdiction.

Guidelines for your project

Enter the workforce and duration to display the checklist.

Confirm the sanitation requirements for the site’s state and industry. Provide and maintain the facilities required for the workforce throughout the project; this checklist does not certify compliance.

The checklist will appear here after entering at least one person and a valid duration.

Free, no-obligation request.

Your choices will be included in the quote. You will be able to specify the modules, connections and delivery. These guidelines do not replace validation of the site configuration.

The 4 points to clarify before delivery

A few details about your site will help prepare installation and avoid a quote that is missing items.

  1. Access and lifting

Gate width, bends, overhead obstacles and distance between the truck and the module location. Include photos.

  2. Ground conditions and siting

Location, level and supports to be approved, passages between modules, doors and team access.

  3. Service connections

Available electricity, drinking water and drainage, distance to services and remaining work to plan. For off-grid use, specify filling and emptying.

  4. Commissioning and maintenance

Who assembles, connects, checks and cleans? Also ask for clarification on toilet cleaning and removal at the end of the project.

Installation plan: information to requestExternal dimensions, rooms, openings and connection points.

Ask the supplier for a dimensioned drawing of the proposed configuration, in PDF or DWG if your team uses that format. Check the footprint of the modules, doors, access routes, connections and handling areas. Have the layout approved for the ground conditions and site organization.

Prepare the site layout plan

Rent or buy your site facilities?

Compare both options with the same rooms and equipment, over the intended period of use.

Rental for the site

Cost the rental rates, delivery and collection, and included services. Ask about the minimum charge, extension terms and the notice period to arrange collection.

Compare rental offers

New or used purchase

If you reuse the modules, factor in transport, storage and maintenance. For used units, check weathertightness, insulation, internal condition and electrical and plumbing installations.

Compare purchase offers

There is no universal duration after which purchase becomes more advantageous. Do the calculation for one project, then for the reuses you actually plan.

Prepare the rental period, contract and collection

Who makes sure employee facilities are provided?

Identify the employer's duties under federal OSHA or the approved State Plan. On a site with multiple employers, agree coordination, access for each crew and who maintains the facilities. A contractor's or rental company's service agreement does not remove another employer's applicable duties. Assign equipment, potable water, cleaning, wastewater removal and fault response before work begins.

Before work starts

Identify federal OSHA or the applicable State Plan. Have functioning toilets, washing and potable water available, with clean meal arrangements, safe access and protection for expected weather.

During the project

Assign inspections, cleaning, consumables, tank servicing and fault response. Keep records required by the governing rules or contract. Reassess peak occupancy, shifts and changing hazards.

When moving or removing units

Maintain required facilities while units are disconnected or relocated. Plan safe utility isolation, transport, lawful wastewater disposal and replacement provision.

A short duration, small workforce or mobile work does not provide a general exemption. Existing facilities can be used only when the arrangement is suitable, agreed and available whenever workers need it. Renting equipment does not transfer all occupational health and safety responsibilities to the rental company.

Your questions about jobsite facilities

How much do jobsite facilities cost?
Request a quote for the selected facilities, duration, delivery, installation and servicing. This page does not publish a verified US jobsite facility price sample. Compare identical equipment and the total charge through collection, including applicable sales taxes.
How many modules should I plan for my team?
Enter the maximum workforce present at the same time and describe the office, break-area, restroom and changing needs. The preparation tool collects your project details; it does not calculate a statutory module count or approve a configuration. Confirm the layout, fixture requirements and servicing for the actual site.
Can a mobile employee facilities module work without connections?
It depends on the model and equipment. A self-contained toilet does not mean the whole employee facilities module is self-contained. Ask for clarification on water and energy supply, drainage, stated autonomy and frequency of filling and emptying.
Does the price include delivery and connections?
Check the quote: transport, unloading, ground preparation, assembly and connections may be priced separately. For rental, also ask about collection costs and cleaning and return conditions.
Can I buy a used employee facilities module?
Yes. Ask for the list of equipment and its condition, recent photos and the possibility of inspecting the modules. Compare the delivered and installed cost by adding any repairs or adaptations needed for your use.
