Specify the toilets, washing facilities, showers and changing space your site needs. Request a fitted building quote that includes delivery, connections, cleaning and servicing.

Choose the facilities for the actual users and work, then ask for the complete installed and serviced price. This page does not publish a verified Australian toilet-building rental sample.
Specify the exact units, usable facilities, fittings and capacity for the proposed workforce and working hours.
Include delivery, unloading, supports, assembly, water and drainage arrangements, electricity and commissioning before work starts.
Price cleaning, consumables, tank emptying and water replenishment, maintenance, emergency replacement and final collection.
Ask for the charge period, GST where applicable, minimum rental, extension and notice terms, and every delivery or collection charge. Commercial rental terms do not change the requirement to provide suitable employee facilities from the start and throughout the work.
Request an itemised quotationIdentify the state or territory WHS regulator and applicable approved facilities code. Victoria uses its OHS framework and has construction-specific guidance. Confirm suitable facilities before work starts and maintain them throughout the project.
Plan adequate toilets for the people using the workplace under the applicable state or territory WHS or OHS rules. Check the locally approved facilities code, building requirements and any construction-specific guidance before selecting fixture numbers.
Specify: Record peak workforce, shifts, privacy, individual needs, accessible use, safe access, lighting, handwashing and servicing. Confirm portable units and wastewater arrangements for this site.
Provide suitable washing arrangements with water, cleansing products and hygienic drying. Assess the actual work: exposure to hazardous substances or contamination may need additional washing, showers or specialist decontamination.
Specify: Describe supply, drainage, temperature, consumables and cleaning. Keep contaminated equipment and clothing away from clean facilities; agree controls for hazardous tasks with the responsible safety professional.
Assess whether the work requires changing rooms, secure personal storage, drying facilities and separation of contaminated protective clothing. Provide privacy and arrangements suitable for the workers using them.
Specify: State the work, contaminants, wet clothing and laundering or disposal responsibilities. An ordinary site cabin does not establish compliance with specialist asbestos or other hazardous-work requirements.
Use the locally approved facilities and construction codes. From 1 July 2026, section 26A requires compliance with relevant approved codes or an equivalent or higher standard of health and safety.
SafeWork NSW: facilities guidanceUse the OHS Act 2004 and applicable Victorian guidance. The Facilities in construction code has exclusions for specified residential work and small, short civil works. Those exclusions do not remove the underlying duty to provide adequate facilities.
WorkSafe Victoria: facilities guidanceThe facilities Code of Practice 2021 was varied from 1 September 2026. Construction projects also have specific WHS Regulation amenities duties, including designated female toilets where required; confirm Schedule 5A and the project's workforce, cost and levels.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland: facilities guidanceUse the WHS Act 2020 and relevant General or Mines Regulations. Shared or nearby facilities must be suitable and safely accessible when workers need them. Construction-specific guidance and wastewater approvals require separate checking.
WorkSafe WA: facilities guidanceUse the WHS Act and Regulations 2012 and locally approved facilities code. Consult workers and coordinate with other duty holders about the workforce, hazards, access, cleaning and any shared facilities.
SafeWork SA: facilities guidanceThe current facilities code took effect on 23 April 2025 under Tasmania's WHS framework. Check construction guidance as well as facilities for outdoor, remote and isolated work.
WorkSafe Tasmania: facilities guidanceThe facilities Code of Practice Approval 2025 took effect on 5 November 2025 and revoked the 2020 approval. Establish adequate and timely access under the ACT WHS framework, with construction guidance for the actual site.
WorkSafe ACT: facilities guidanceUse the WHS (National Uniform Legislation) Act and Regulations 2011. The approved facilities code was varied on 12 March 2026. Include heat, remote access, emergency arrangements and supply interruptions in the facilities plan.
NT WorkSafe: facilities guidanceModel codes apply only where adopted or approved locally; verify the applicable jurisdiction and work.
Describe the users and the facilities already available. Choose the number of modular buildings from the agreed facilities and proposed layout.
Specify toilet and handwashing facilities under the applicable workplace rules, including water supply, soap, drying and any required temperature. Check the state or territory WHS or OHS facilities code and task-specific hygiene needs before selecting a self-contained unit. Hazardous work may need specialist decontamination.
Assess the actual tasks, contaminants and workers under the locally applicable WHS or Victorian OHS rules. Hazardous work can require specialist shower or decontamination arrangements. Confirm the applicable guidance, users, privacy, peak demand, hot-water capacity and drainage before ordering. Unknown exposure or user numbers cannot be treated as zero.
Simultaneous occupancy, lockers, clothing to store or dry, benches and circulation space.
To confirm the number of site facilities, consider the workforce, its distribution, the duration and working conditions. The site facilities enquiry preparation tool gives guidance with its limitations. The price of a modular site building alone does not establish that it covers all your needs.
Check the jurisdiction's rules for separate or individual facilities, privacy, locks and any workforce thresholds before choosing a shared arrangement. A lockable cubicle alone does not prove that a shared toilet meets every state's requirements. Confirm accessible use, sanitary waste disposal and any required menstrual products, together with the shower and changing-room arrangement.
The number of cubicles is not enough to describe the expected service. Indicate the times of use and site constraints to choose the equipment with the supplier.
Have the licensed plumbing professional establish supply, storage, delivery-temperature protection and capacity for the actual users and applicable requirements.
Confirm lawful wastewater collection or drainage, ventilation, cleaning and protection suited to the local climate.
Ask for a layout with the lockers and benches. It allows you to check the space for getting changed, the openings and circulation when several people are present.
Seats, secure storage and enough space to change. Keep contaminated protective clothing apart from everyday clothes; separate locker rooms or separate use may be needed for privacy.
Wet clothes, need for drying, heating, ventilation and cleaning frequency.
Indicate the available water supply, drainage and electricity, their distance to the installation point and truck access. Photos can help the supplier prepare the solution.
Get a quote for connections, necessary lengths, installation and commissioning. Specify who carries out each service.
Ask for a suitable solution: water storage, wastewater collection and access for servicing. Specify the capacity between water refills and tank emptying, and who provides those services.
Gate, bends, slope, obstacles, manoeuvring space and unloading distance. Have the ground and the module supports validated.
Several configurations are possible. Request the technical specification of the chosen model and its up-to-date plan; the size of an office or another toilet building does not apply to all models.
Make sure every task and its price are allocated in the quote. Consumables, cleaning and any work on the tanks should match the intended use.
Cleaning, consumables, equipment maintenance, tank emptying if needed and call-outs in case of breakdown.
Collection date and access, cleaning required, inventory of condition and scale of charges for repairs or making good.
Describe the facilities, site and rental period so suppliers can quote for the complete service.
Describe separately the seating and the equipment for meals. Find the different uses in the modular site building guide to organise the rooms and their connections.
